MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

They came, they stretched, they powered-up, they… Paddled the Rouge!

On July 26, 2014 thirty one paddlers joined CPAWS Wildlands League and MEC at Rouge Park Beach for the Big Wild Challenge 2014.  What an incredible day paddling the beautiful Rouge River!

Paddlers took to the waters in search of the stunning flora and fauna of the newly announced Rouge National Urban Park.  They were delighted with the peaceful nature setting of the Carolinian forest lining the banks, finding remnants of old cottages swept away by Hurricane Hazel in 1954.  Even the rumble of the urban waterfall that is Highway 401 was to be enjoyed.

Raising more than $4000, CPAWS Wildlands League now continues it work to keep nature the first priority in the rouge, for generations to come. Read more and take action.
